A few weeks ago Tim and I went to Enchanted Rock. Of course as we pull up there was a line of cars as usual(for us short due to us leaving early and getting there at a good time :)) We were laughing at how so many people are so excited to wake up early on a Saturday morning, drive 1 1/2 hrs just to climb a big rock. hee! Doesn't sound overly fabulous to some, but it is. :) It got me thinking about the past few places we ahve been to for fun family outings. Bull Creek Trail, Greenbelt trail off mopac and 360, playgrounds (due to the fabulous weather), and now Enchanted Rock.
What do all these things have in common....God's creation. Think about it, we pay thousands of dollars to go to Hawaii, why? God's creation. The weather is beautiful year round, the ocean breath taking, Diamond Head energizing, the sea turtules fun, and the sky at night reveals just a glimpse of the beauty of God. I have been to Hawaii and besides going to see my sister and her family, I went to enjoy the beauty of God's creation.
When you see how breath taking nature alone is, God just becomes bigger, better, and more beautiful than I can imagine. As beautiful and mighty God's creation is, God is so much more than that. God is in control of the waves and the birds and takes care of them, I am reminded of how much more God is taking care of his people. "Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, you I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive i the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!" (Luke 12:27,28)
What a loving, beautiful God we serve. I am so thankful to know this amazing God. He loves us so much. So, so much. He does wants you to know and experience his love and wants you to know how much he delights and rejoices over, "The Lord your God is in your mist, a might one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exalt over you with loud singing." Zephaniah 3:17,18
